Multicultural visual art resources continue to be sparse throughout most educational institutions. Temple University’s assistant professor, David Herman Jr., will speak on the importance of ensuring that all students are exposed to diverse ideas and how the lack of multicultural visual arts is of critical importance to address because an increased availability of multicultural artwork has the potential to create broader educational access for learners who have been historically marginalized and underserved. Dr. Herman and Monica Zimmerman, Vice President of Public Education and Engagement at PAFA, will discuss new approaches to education, art and diversity at PAFA and beyond.
