Leslie Roberts diagrams language into painted and drawn visual structures. Recent solo shows were installed at Minus Space and 57W57Arts. She has also exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum, Davidson Gallery, Deanna Evans Projects, McKenzie Fine Art, Pierogi Gallery, PPOW, Tiger Strikes Asteroid NY, Visual Arts Center of NJ, Weatherspoon Museum, Wellin Museum at Hamilton College, and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, among other venues. Her work has been discussed in print and online in Artforum, the Brooklyn Rail, NY Arts, Sculpture Magazine, and Two Coats of Paint. Residencies include Yaddo, Ragdale, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and the Marble House Project. Roberts has an MFA from Queens College and a BA from Yale, and attended Skowhegan and the New York Studio School. She is Professor Emerita at Pratt Institute, where she taught for 35 years. She is represented by Minus Space. Born in North Carolina, Roberts lives and works in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
