Anne Minich's work, Vermillion

Join us for a unique opportunity as Rhoden Curatorial Assistant Han McCoy leads an insightful curator talk on Making Strange: Sacred Imagery and the Self, currently showcased at PAFA. McCoy will share an inside look at the curatorial process, from developing themes to building the exhibition checklist. The discussion will then transition into an engaging conversation with Philadelphia artist and PAFA alumna Anne Minich, exploring her featured work Vermillion and delving into the inspirations behind her broader artistic practice.

The Art At Noon lectures are supported by the Behrend Family in memory of Rose Susan Hirschhorn Behrend, a former docent at the Academy and a great supporter of its education programs.

Han McCoy is the Rhoden Curatorial Assistant at PAFA, aiding in the production of the first major retrospective of mid-century African American sculptor John W. Rhoden. They received a BA in art history from Tyler School of Art at Temple University and an MA in art history from Lindenwood University. Their academic research is in early modern art, with a specific focus on the Black figure in the western canon, while their curatorial career has been shaped by working with modern and contemporary artists. Their curatorial endeavors have been supported by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the Samuel H. Kress Foundation.
