Pat Phillips
PAFA is pleased to welcome artist Pat Phillips to campus for the Spring 2020 Visiting Artists Program series.
Pat Phillips (b. 1987, Lakenheath, ENG) is a painter from Pineville, LA. His work is Influenced by folk, graffiti, landscape painting, and Americana. Through common language, Phillips creates a mythology that examines personal, as well as historical accounts to explore societal perceptions. He is a 2017 Joan Mitchell Painters & Sculptors Grant recipient and exhibited in the 2019 Whitney Biennial.
PAFA's Visiting Artists Program is a student-run program that brings a roster of local, national and international artists to campus for lectures, critiques, and workshops. The program exposes students and the public to a range of artistic approaches and fosters discussion about contemporary art and ideas.
