Steven Nocella received a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Philadelphia College of Art (now the University of the Arts). He has had many solo shows, as well as participated in numerous group shows at exhibition venues such as the My House Gallery, Drexel University, the Highwire Gallery, the Sande Webster Gallery, The Peng Gallery, Rowan University Westby Art Gallery, PAFA, the University of the Arts and the Philadelphia Art Alliance. The Sculpture program at PAFA embraces contemporary and classical approaches across a broad range of art-making—from traditional figurative sculpture to video and installation art. Students receive hands-on training from PAFA’s talented sculpture faculty about tools, materials, and techniques of sculptural composition and fabrication, figure modeling and carving, bronze casting, woodcarving, welding, plaster casting, foundry, and site-specific sculpture.
