Teacher Workshop: “Awakened in You”
This teacher's workshop will delve into the important and under-explored history of African American art highlighting paintings and works on paper dating from the late 19th to 20th centuries.
PAFA’s new exhibition, "Awakened In You": The Collection of Dr. Constance E. Clayton displays a gift of more than seventy artworks by African American artists from the collection of American educator and arts advocate, Constance E. Clayton.
After a guided tour of the exhibition, educators will participate in activities focused on visual analysis and critical thinking and explore sample activities and essential questions aiming to engage students with the important themes connecting visual art and literacy, social justice, education and leadership.
Participants are eligible for 3 hours of Act 48 credit. Registration includes a brunch reception and admission to the museum.
