[Abstract)]

Louis I. Kahn

Devoid of mass, these pure abstract forms arranged in a composition exemplify the extremes to which Kahn went in trying to master a new idiom in his drawing and his architecture. Reminiscent of the drawings of Mies van der Rohe and his followers, the shapes here are complex, dissolving space and volume with absolute contrasts and dark black outlined voids.
