Drawing for Spring

John Ferris

"Drawing for Spring" reveals Ferris' fondness for tree and house archetypes. He permits us to view certain interior segments of the long structures which resemble tobacco barns, and plants small green leaves on the tendril-like branches of the central tree. Both sky and foreground are delicately delineated and the work is bordered by Ferris' characteristic frame within a frame.
