New Grant Opportunity for Mid-Atlantic Area Students Announced

PAFA announces new "Mid-Atlantic Fellowship Grant" for incoming students from the Mid-Atlantic region

PHILADELPHIA (April 9, 2020) -- The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) is pleased to announce the initiation of a new grant program for incoming students from the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. The Mid-Atlantic Fellowship Grant will provide $5,000 toward annual tuition fees for any newly-accepted incoming undergraduate or graduate student whose home is in one of the Mid-Atlantic states, including Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

"These difficult and largely unprecedented times have forced all of us to reconsider and reevaluate how we can best serve our community," said David R. Brigham, President and CEO. "It is increasingly clear that the challenges of the pandemic will not be short-term, and that financial hardship and lingering concerns around travel across long distances may persist. It is our hope and intention that the new Mid-Atlantic Fellowship Grants will provide a measure of support for future students from our region, who choose to pursue their arts education in an environment that is located close to home."

Eligible incoming students will automatically receive this $5,000 grant annually, applicable toward yearly tuition. Through its numerous student scholarship programs, PAFA provides over $5 million per year in direct financial aid to its students, both graduate and undergraduate.

More information on the School of Fine Arts at PAFA, including admissions, financial aid, and undergraduate and graduate programs, is available through the Office of Admissions.
