Carolyn Pyfrom
Carolyn Pyfrom studied painting at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy from 1998 to 2002 and at Troy University in Alabama, where she completed majors in both studio art and mathematics, from 1990 to 1995. She also studied at Obirin University in Tokyo, from 1993 to 1994.
She has twice been a recipient of the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant (2005, 2003), as well as grants from the Fleisher Art Memorial (2004), the American Society of Classical Realism (2001) and the John F. and Anna Lee Stacey Foundations (2001). Exhibitions include Artists’ House Gallery, Philadelphia (2010, 2008, 2006, 2004, 2003); the State Museum of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg (2009); Brigham Galleries, Nantucket (2007); Eleanor Ettinger Gallery, New York (2007); Solomon Gallery, Dublin (2006); and the Biggs Museum of American Art, Dover, Delaware(2004).
Pyfrom teaches courses in Life Painting, Life Drawing and Cast Drawing in the Certificate/BFA program. She also teaches courses in the Continuing Education program.
