Student Exhibitions
PAFA students curate, exhibit, and learn about all aspects of mounting and promoting exhibitions in world-class facilities and spaces.
Students have many opportunities year-round to exhibit on- and off-campus. On-campus spaces include:
- Anne Bryan Gallery: 1,930 square feet open to the public, within the museum, sales of work encouraged
- Broad Street Studio: 313 square feet open to the public, highly visible from outdoors on the corner of Broad St. (a major pedestrian and motor throughway) and Cherry St. by Lenfest Plaza
- Hamilton Building Galleries: 690 square feet of internal galleries in lobbies and meeting areas managed by the Student Exhibitions Committee and the Studio Floor Leaders
Exhibition skill-building opportunities include:
- Student Exhibitions Committee: members learn practical skills for preparing works for exhibition and designing thematic content.
- Courses for Academic Credit: curators and faculty lead courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, introducing students to the inner workings of preparing a major museum exhibition currently in development.
- Professional Experience: some students work as interns with areas like the PAFA Museum Curatorial Department and the Brodsky Center for handmade papermaking and printmaking.
